Helen L. Johnson, Director
Helen Johnson is a Professor of Educational Psychology in the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Queens College and the CUNY Graduate Center, and Director of Cross-Campus Learning Communities at Queens College. Helen served as Chair of Elementary and Early Childhood Education and as Director of The Family Literacy Project. She teaches courses on family contexts of language and literacy, instructional issues for diverse populations, and research methods.

Ashley R. Davis, Project Coordinator
Ashley Renaire Davis is an educational psychology doctoral student at City University of New York’s (CUNY) Graduate Center. Ashley’s research focuses on the teaching and learning of mathematics from early childhood through postsecondary education, with special focus on the factors that reproduce inequity in the teaching and learning of mathematics in elementary schools. Ashley is an adjunct professor in the Elementary and Early Childhood Education Department at Queens College and has worked as a math consultant supporting Pre-K through fifth grade teachers in implementation of developmentally appropriate mathematical content. Ashley previously worked as Jumpstart @ QC’s workshop leader.
